how do we cooperate better?
how do we work with and network existing initiatives and organizations who are working toward these things?
is there a need for a central information and resource center (website? brick and mortar hq? what?)?
how do we work together better and start cooperating instead of competing? how do we start thinking and operating as 'the church of west michigan'? how might we work cooperatively with other groups for the sake of the world around us?
just thinking about the implications for practice from a theology of "inaugurated eschatology"...
just thinking about the implications of Isaiah 65:17-25 and the prayer, "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"...

I think much of this comes back to "the problem with me." I care about things, but then I don't do anything about them. Or at least I don't do much about them. They concern me, but I don't put effort into fixing these things.
While I don't want to make a resolution, this year I hope to do things that make real differences. I believe issues of justice as well as caring for God's creation are of major concerns to my heart and mind. I have no idea if I will be heard, but I hope to someone speak about the things of Jesus in more powerful ways this year.
For Him.
Please don't hear this post as a complaint. I'm not complaining that this isn't happening. I'm really looking for ways that it might happen. I'm really wondering what it might look like for us to think of ourselves in terms of 'the church of west michigan'.
I'm really hopeful about it.
